Faults, the most serious console message, get red dots, while errors, which are more like warning messages, get yellow dots. In general, you run a ‘runnable JAR’ by opening it or with Terminal java -jar /path/to/game.jar. However, this JAR does not contain a suitable manifest for launching, i.e. Not a runnable JAR.

Pre story: I recently got the new Maverick update for Mac and have never had any problem opening the server.jar file before infill now. I had to go to preferences and allow the downloaded file to be run which I had set off before the update but had to change it back to run anything. This makes me think it also did a change within the computer to running my server.jar file.--- I downloaded the jar how you regularly would, put it into a file to run and have it open all the files within and a message popped up.. Image below / 'The Java.JAR file 'minecraft_server.1.7.2.jar' could not be launched. Check console for possible error messages. I'm looking into the console and I'm only slightly familiar with it. I wouldn't know which things pop up would help any info.
